Our early research as well as studies by other scholars have shown that, children below the age of 6 years are vulnerable to being neglected particularly in areas that are under-served by mother and child care services .  The neglect may not be specific to their physical safety since generally the children in this age group are kept within the home, with a mother, grandmother or elder sibling as the primary caretaker.  The neglect is more in the area of cognitive stimulation that could lead to poor early learning foundations.  Therefore one of The Promise Foundation's important focus areas is early childhood education.  Here, our objective is to create rich opportunities for economically disadvantaged young children to receive cognitive stimulation, keeping in clear view, the context and the  family resources.
