The Promise Foundation’s work balances academic psychology with community based research and practice.  Our work over the years has straddled research and academics on the one side and practice and application on the other.  Our approach has been to address practical problems through rigorous, culturally resonant research and experimentally validated development of interventions.  Certain key principles guide our approach to research and application, which are described in this section.
